The end of the year is fast approaching.
And, with this, comes a time for reflection and of course the famous (or, infamous) practice of Resolution.
As you and I well know, most of these resolutions include ‘going to the gym more’, ‘eating better’, ‘staying in better touch with friends / family’, and ‘getting my finances in order’.
And, you and I also know that usually by around February or March (if not sooner), these resolutions fade away, are forgotten, or are just plain given up on.
SOMETIMES, they return again (for the Catholics of the bunch) in the form of Lenten penance and self-sacrifice… but, most of the time, that also fades away as soon as the Easter celebration begins.
When all is said and done, it seems that for most people, the act of a New Years Resolution is simply a temporary superficial declaration to ‘look good’ in front of others.
But, the reality is that it’s generally nothing more than words with no substance.
Last year around this time, we discussed starting the New Year with an attention towards gaining a better credit score.
This year, if I can encourage you to make any sort of lasting resolution (along with Taking Action), I would suggest that you focus your attention on one very precise concept.
But, before I go deeper into this content, let me digress a moment…
At this point, you may be quite aware of my love of and affinity for travel (and, if you don’t, you soon will).
I take my work and my life anywhere and everywhere — and, I take them both very seriously.
That’s probably why I quite enjoy being in places that allow my body and mind to relax while helping to develop this community of US (you, me, the M4 team, and the rest of the M4 insiders and community members).
Places like the coast of Costa Rica, which I (re)visited back in November.

This life love also includes a passion for new experiences, getting to know people, and — of course, of course — new (and, repeat) foods.
In my most recent of travels (to Nashville for food, family, and football Americano), I — seemingly by pure chance — met the founder of quite an interesting philosophy and social gathering website.
I say ‘seemingly’ simply because it depends on your personal beliefs… some may say ‘luck’; some may say ‘right place / right time’; still others may say something like ‘fate’, ‘manifestation of thought’, or other metaphysical concept.
However you view the world, this new acquaintance-ship came at precisely the right time… her website assists people in transitioning their lives into a better, healthier, happier state of being through a very simple idea:
It’s a replacement of resolution by training the mind on one selected word, one idea, one theme — and, not only thinking about it, but saying it to others both verbally and in writing.
The underlying concept for this is so incredibly precise…
